Mark’s career began in 1973 in the sales department of the Venice Maid Company in Vineland, New Jersey. In 1976, he was employed by Tri-City Paper Company as Sales Manager, leaving in 1985 to join the sales team at Wares United Van Lines.
He assumed the position of Vice-President of Sales for Safeway Freezer Storage in 1987 and remained with the company after its acquisition by the Tedesco Family in 2009. During his career, Mark worked with various customers and vendors and developed many long term relationships.
With strong relations within the food industry, Mark began to call on his sources to assist with procuring ingredients for the new Safeway Fresh Foods Division. In Mark’s new role, he is responsible for the acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment, and services; obtains price quotations; supervises the preparation of bid specifications; provides professional and technical assistance in obtaining information on product proposals; communicates with vendors; compares bids and evaluates options; approves awarding of contracts; and maintains central files of purchasing records.
Having been raised in Vineland, Mark resides on Barnegat Bay’s Pelican Island, in Ocean County, New Jersey, with his wife, Margaret. They have four children, Robin, Jennifer, Katelyn, and Stephanie, and four grandchildren. Mark numbers among his favorite pastimes family, reading, and sports in that order.
