Sam Tedesco’s working life has been an immersion in food manufacturing and logistics. Sam’s career began in 1994 at Missa Bay, where he gained a broad and deep experience in production, distribution, maintenance, and transportation with the Swedesboro, New Jersey, food service and manufacturing giant.
From 1997-2000, he operated a sand, gravel, and stone hauling fleet for Sunny Side Transportation – a company he founded with his brother Frank and father Sal Tedesco. Sam returned to Missa Bay in 2000 to help establish an R&D Department charged with the development of new innovative food products like fresh-cut fruit and vegetables, grab-and-go snacks and various hot food concepts for major quick-serve restaurants, big-box stores, c-stores, and supermarkets.
In the duration of his time spent in R&D, Sam has also acquired a HACCP Certification. Beginning in 2006, he worked with Missa Bay customers as a member of its Marketing & Sales Department.
In October, 2009, he joined Sal and Frank Tedesco in their acquisition of Safeway Freezer Storage, where he is today responsible for the company’s Business Development Division, which is inclusive of Sales, Marketing and Product Development.
Sam resides in Rosenhayn – the southern New Jersey town where he was born and raised – with his wife, Vivian, and their two children, Samantha and Salvatore. Chief among Sam’s pastimes is the piloting of helicopters, having earned his Private Pilot Rotor Craft license in 2009.
